A thread was started a few years ago about what made you smile/happy that day so I will start one again.
Me.....My daughter put on facebook what my grandson (aged nine) had said the day before when they were out, I've copied the post below
My son asked me if he could call me Mum. I said do you want to call me Mum? He said don't worry Mummy it won't be forever, only until we have finished at the park. Why do they have to grow up?
Come on...what's made you smile or happy today.

Do ironic smiles count? :) If so, then today I had an ironic smile at achieving iconic status at my GP surgery. My GP called me and asked if, before my appointment tomorrow, I would agree to being examined by a bunch of medical students as part of their own examination process. So it's official, I am now a guinea-pig. Squeak-squeak Paul Barrett

Good post Paula. I suffer from rosacea so my face can become really red. I normally wear factor 50 cream on my face but today I stayed at home so did not bother. Tonight my nose is bright red. My Husband said after dinner "oh my God have you seen your nose. It is so red you look like you have drunk the cellar dry". He then started to laugh, bit his lip and now he has a big red blood blister on his lip to match my nose. It made me smile Serves him right for taking the mickey

We have an inset day at the school this Friday & we're having a long family weekend away in our caravan The fact that in January (before being diagonised) I could just about climb the 2 steps to get into the caravan compared to now just makes me smile Louise

I'm happy today to come on here and see you all We've got new carpets going in, had lots of decorating done and I'm feeling like we are almost there getting our house into a fully done home. Obviously there's the maintainence to do as you go But I love that we've got the homely feel everywhere and it's looking warm, cozy and fun. We've had to do it over time, but we've almost got there and that feels lush to me how to be a velvet bulldoser

Being brave and finally getting weighed this morning, first time since just after Christmas. Just had two holidays, one being a cruise, last time I did one of those I put on loads of weigh. I was very pleased what the little box on the bathroom floor told me. It is now my new best friend Paula

I was invited by my GP's surgery to have a yearly review about my RA, it's a new thing that they are doing. Was told that the hospital are more interested in my joints, this was for my all round health being RA also affects internal organs. Had lots of bloods taken yesterday and went to see my doctor today. Good news all around. All bloods came back normal, cholesterol 4.7 and have been told that I only have a 5% of getting heart disease/attack and of having a stroke, according to my GP nobody gets a score of 0%, so I am a happy bunny.
It's good and reassuring to know that my surgery is now doing this now.

I had a lovely day on Wednesday. I finally took the plunge to go up to London on the train on my own to meet my daughter for lunch, which we had sitting overlooking the Thames. She'd been amazing and done all her homework.... Used the Jubilee line - disabled access - to get out towards Canary Wharf - the station before which I can't remember the name of - where she had parked her car in the car park right opposite the station exit. We had a lovely time together and looked round the City Farm... went back to her house for a nice cup of tea and to see her garden. Then she delivered me back to Waterloo station for the train back home (1 hour 35 mins each way). It's fair to say it has taken me 2 days to recover... and I've slept most of today... but well worth it. And I shall be doing it again. Anne

Sitting in the bird hide and seeing a kingfisher at our local nature reserve yesterday, Pwll Penarth. We had heard they were nesting there in the sandy soil banks along with the sand martins. We sat there for ages and ages watching a pied wagtail and reed warblers and just as we were giving up hope he arrived. A truly magical moment!! He swooped up and down a few times over the pool and then sat preening himself on branch for some time, such rich colours..... I had only ever seen one once before, and that was just a quick flash of blue near a river. Really made my day. xx
